The Wellington Wailers have been invited to take part in ‘The Shoreham-by-Sea May Day Celebrations’ including the Crowning of The May Queen! This is a revival of an event that has been part of Shoreham-by-Sea’s heritage for many years. Sompting Village Morris will do dance displays around the town starting in the East Street/ Coronation Green area. There will be a procession around the town Centre and St Mary’s de Haura Church. This will culminate in the Crowning of the Shoreham-by-Sea May Queen Ceremony. Sompting Village Morris will provide fine dancing to great musicians around the town and in the odd pub or two. The Wellington Wailers will also provide a song or two wherever they can rest their tankards! This is a lovely event reviving a tradition or two! Beware it is an early start defined by custom. See you there!
